About this deal

I received a Kaweco Supra Fireblue on loan a few weeks ago. Thank you to Appelboom for lending it to Well-Appointed Desk! But anyone who has heard of Kaweco’s ‘fireblue’ range before will immediately recognise this pen. Legend has it that the Kaweco CEO personally blowtorches the steel body of these pens to bring out the subtle blues and greys — and occasional oranges — of the fireblue finish.

Kaweco Liliput Fireblue Fountain Pen — Pens Plus (of Oxford)

This Fireblue pen is constructed from tempered steel and features a spectacular finish. Each pen is hand-torched, giving it a unique pattern of enchanting colors ranging from light brown to purple to blue. Due to this color variation, the pen you receive will have its own unique look which may differ in color from the pens pictured. Support for many vanilla doom wads, allowing every favorite wad to be a completely colorful experience! Lately I've been interested in the compact size & the various new iterations of the Liliput. The screw in nib-units are a great feature of this diminutive Kaweco. The Kaweco Supra Fireblue is made of blue stainless steel and is a real eye-catcher. It is produced from high-quality stainless steel and is 'blued' by hand, which makes every item individual. That's the logical direction to take...I wonder what would preserve the finish without chemically reacting with it -- if that's even possible. It might be that no lacquer would react with the blued finish, but I don't know enough about all of that to know. I'm tempted to get a tube of stainless steel from a metal store and blue it, then put a few layers of different lacquers on to see what happens...would be a rather easy experiment to be honest. The Supra nib unit is a bigger version of the convenient screw-in/screw-out nib unit found on all Kaweco pens above the basic range. My Supra had a fine nib, which was extremely smooth with good ink flow. The combination of large nib and weighty pen made the Supra a really fun writer.

not related but why do people hate the fireblue texture so much? i mean not that tis topic is hating it but everytime i see people talking about it its because they hate it How to tell if a pen is wet or dry. In the above photo, the Supra is full-size with the extension between the section and the rest of the pen body. In this form it’s definitely longer than the Sport when capped, but much more usable, without the faff of posting the cap to write. Holly, Kaweco will respond to your questions. For mine, it took a couple of days for the answers to appear..

You'll have to reduce them to 10% of their current size for use though (possibly by nearest neighbor)(each pixel is 10x10 pixels). The Supra is minimalism maximized. But in terms of its heritage, the Supra is actually the Liliput maximized. So now is the perfect time to mention the Liliput. I got to use a Fireblue and a Stainless Steel Liliput. When the metal extension is removed, the brass Supra shrinks to a length closer to the two small Kaweco Liliputs, though wider. That extra diameter adds some writing comfort. Whilst I'm most definitely not saying that zscript is anything other than great, I feel that many people who don't have enough of a programmers head on their shoulders will find zscript too techy to be their goto modding tool. Take Nash's "minimal coding" example here: Weight of the extended Supra: approximately 50 grams capped and approximately 40 grams uncapped. Weight of the shorter Supra without extension piece: approximately 40 grams. In this respect it’s like the Schon, but unlike the Schon the Supra is actually a convertable, extendable pen, too. Sharp is a good word to use, actually, because there are a few edges to catch the finger. With the extension tube inserted, there’s a step midway down the barrel, and the step up from the section is a bit edgy too.

I personally don't like it that much, blue fire? doesn't make much sense to me, but, what can I do? It's a texture, and I respect the people who like it. For deliveries to the Rest of the World, Royal Mail suggests up to 21 working days for parcels to arrive. tinta - I know what you mean. I would rather have the copper one than the plain stainless (silver) one, but I am afraid that no matter what, a Liliput of some sort is going to find its way to me! There is hope, yay! The Precious Heat is much much better than the Ordinary Heat, and it can be applied only to hand-crafted items made of Precious Steel, sourced from the core of a male unicorn's horn. Being the one who mostly stays outside of the community, I feel really confused now. FIREBLU is ugly? Seriously? It is one of my favorite textures!

Capped, the Supra is a tiny, chunky little thing, in the mould of Kaweco’s Liliput, but a much more usable diameter. It’s close enough to the Schon P6 to be a true size rival, and meaningfully smaller than the Sport.
