About this deal

Overall, the build quality for the HS70 Pro Wireless exceeds my expectations. It feels like I received a quality product and everything seems sturdy and ready for years of use. Both headphone headbands give me aches and need more padding to combat the issue. Aside from that, both provide a reasonably comfortable wearing experience, but the HS70 fall just short of the G Pro X. Build Quality Logitech G Pro X

The HS70 is a wireless-only headset – there is no wired connection. The 2.4Ghz wireless connection is achieved with a USB dongle that plugs into your computer or PS4. Wireless range is rated at up to 40 feet, which is plenty when gaming at your desk or in a living room. I was able to go into the kitchen (which is next to our living room) and grab a drink without losing the connection. Going to the bedroom down the hall led to audible blips and skips, though. There is no Bluetooth capability, and without a wired connection, these are unusable with other sources like a smart phone. In other words, this is a gaming headset through and through. Corsair HS70 - Software The G Pro X have a mute button and volume dial on the PC connective cord that also doubles as the console cord. The mobile connective cord has a mute button but no volume dial. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless The ear cups are properly cushioned with plush memory foam. They fit the entirety of my ear within the ear cups, and there is even some wiggle room. It would be nice to see the same cushion on the headband, as I feel they were close to nailing comfort. Build Quality The HS70 Pro Wireless have great build quality. The USB external sound card allows access to the Logitech G Hub software on PC, which is truly outstanding. We saw it in the mic quality section, and I’ll go over it more in the sound quality section, but it’s a huge advantage because it significantly improves the headset’s capabilities. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless The battery life is listed as up to 16 hours, which is more than enough to cover a few gaming sessions, unless you’re livestreaming a marathon on Twitch. While running a constant stream of music to test the battery life, they lasted just over 14.5 hours from full charge to empty.

How long does the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless’s battery last?

title=More%20Expert%20Tech%20Roundups&type=articles%2Cvideos&tags=tech-roundup&count=6&columnCount=6&theme=article I find the HS70 Pro Wireless have an even keel of sound all around. When testing the headphones in CS:GO and PUBG on PC, I was really impressed. The bass was definitely present and didn’t drown out the rest of the frequency range. The design for the HS70 Pro Wireless are a clear-cut winner. They come across as more professional and sleek than the Void RGB Elite Wireless, which have a much more exotic design.

The Void RGB Elite Wireless win for connectivity. I never experienced any latency or drop-out issues with them on PC or PS4. I was expecting the same performance from the HS70 Pro Wireless and was surprised that they cut out far more frequently. All the sounds are distinct and I can still hear the footsteps of players nearby, if perhaps less precisely. The HS70 does an excellent job of separating the lows, mids, and highs, and making each sound distinct from the others. Through its wireless USB Bluetooth connector, the HS70 Pro Wireless is compatible with the PS4, PS5, and PC. It also comes with a micro USB charging cable to support its 16-hour battery life. The USB Bluetooth connecter that makes the HS70 wireless on PC and PlayStation consoles. When playing both Battlefront II and Battlefield 1 on my PC, the 7.1 Surround gave great spatial awareness to everything that was happening around me. Enemies creeping through rubble or firing their blasters down the next hallway were easily located and neutralized. The stereo mode was an identical experience to that on the PS4. Sound isn’t quite as expansive as the 7.1 setting, but the ability to place and locate sounds isn’t that diminished. While playing Eve online, the audio reproduced was excellent. As I warped from system to system fighting would-be thieves, the audio of my thrusters rumbled perfectly, and the explosions of enemy ships were absolute perfection going from hard lows to expanding highs without any distortion. Using Bluetooth, I connected the HS70 Bluetooth to my cell phone, and the experience was equally as fantastic in terms of the quality of the sound. If you detached the mic and used these as daily, over-ear headphones, you’d be highly satisfied as it sounds the same wired as it does with a Bluetooth connection.

The HS70 Pro Wireless also has 7.1 surround sound that I can rely on. It’s clear where footsteps, shots, and general sounds are coming from. The HS70 Pro Wireless has equally revealing 7.1 surround sound on PC. The 7.1 surround sound was distinct and useful in telling where footsteps, reload sounds, or shots in the distance were coming from. Explosions didn’t drown out the mids and the highs, and even when situations got chaotic, I was aware of my surroundings. Whether you’re a professional or casual gamer, the sound quality will meet your needs. The audio cues are direct and crisp and the 7.1 surround sound gives a clear direction of where sounds are coming from. The exception is on PS4 where the 7.1 surround sound isn’t supported and this slightly takes away from directional cues. Both ear cups are made of hard plastic and feature a metal ring with the Logitech and League of Legends logos on each side. The aluminum joints that connect the ear cups and the headband appear extremely strong. The headband is flexible but still provides solid resistance. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Because the headband rests on one central point, it causes an ache in the area that takes all the pressure. Discomfort only occurred after long hours of use and didn’t persist after readjusting the headphones. Despite this, the headphones still don’t feel heavy on my head but they could create a better fit on my head.Because of its 2m PC/console cable and secondary mobile cable, the G Pro X is compatible with all devices. Also included is a Y splitter for separate microphone and audio ports on the PC. Close up look at the cables and USB external sound card that enables the Logitech G Hub.

After I set everything up and turned it on, it just took a few seconds for the headset to be recognized by either my PC or PS4 (whichever the USB dongle was plugged into). On the PS4 I had to go in to the audio devices settings to change the output to headphones from only chat audio to all audio. When testing it using the "chat only" option for my PS4 I found the HS70 wasn't fully sound isolating, but they covered my ears enough that with game sounds coming from my home theater speakers I missed a good bit of detail, thereby not utilizing the headset to its full potential. The G Pro X and HS70 are hands down two of the best gaming headphones I have ever tested and compared. Neither headset fails in a section and both offer a great product that’s reflective of their price. There is a rubber cover for the mic port, although it isn’t attached and could very easily be lost. The microphone arm takes a firm press to attach fully and sits snugly in the port. The arm itself articulates very well and always kept the position I set. The lone button on the right ear cup is for turning it on or off, so there’s no worry of accidentally turning off the headset while you adjust volume or mute the mic. Tie: [Logitech G Pro X & Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless] Design and Functionality Verdict Top down look at both headphones. I like the wireless capabilities of the HS70 headset, and they work well when seated and gaming. However, they consistently drop when I move away from the transmitter. Furthermore, the HS170 are only compatible with PC, PS4, and PS5, which is ideal for my setup but may not be for yours. Sound Quality Comparing sound quality on PC Logitech G Pro X

Frequently asked questions about the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless

It feels that Bluetooth wireless is the new wave for headphones. It eliminates the use of a cord which can sometimes yank the headphones off your head. However, I am always skeptical about wireless headphones connection quality but was proven wrong in my last review. The substandard microphone build quality led me to wonder if the HS70 Pro Wireless are true to their claims of “ reducing ambient noise” from the microphone.
